Certainly an ulcer may be possible. Without further testing (i.e. an upper GI series or upper endoscopy), it is impossible to tell for sure.
You can also be tested for a bacteria known as H
PyloriHelicobacter pylori
Pyloric stenosis - which is associated with inflammation and ulcers.
I would consider one of the aforementioned tests for further evaluation, and if negative, consider a 24-hr pH study which can definitively rule out GERD.
If the symptoms continue, a referral to a GI specialist can be considered.
