I had a colonoscopy and the result is I have diverticulosis. I have not been diagnosed with Crohn's disease but of course I just started on this diagnostic "journey" to discover the root cause of my B12 deficiency.
Causes of low B12:
- No animalAnimal shape vitamins Animal shape vitamins with iron food (vegetarians sometimes have low B12)
- Atrophic gastritis (would also cause indigestion, undigested food in the stool)
- Heavy inflammation of the small intestine (Crohn's disea, celiac disease..would cause diarrhea, bloating)
- Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO...could cause bloating, diarrhea or constipation, and deficiences of other vitamins (vit A, D, E...) and minerals
