Could excessive, lengthy masturbation sessions irritate hemorrhoids?

Without getting too much into my general health/sexual habits, here's what's going on with me, a 35 year old male. About a year ago, I was diagnosed with having a mild case of internal hemorrhoids by a local colorectal surgeon (following a sigmoidoscopy). Other than introducing daily Metamucil into my diet (as recommended by him), I have not had any treatment for this condition. Very occasionally, trace amounts of bright red blood will appear on both my stools (which are soft-ish, once daily without variation) and the toilet paper with which I've wiped myself. Nothing has been such that I've found the need to be worried, until today. After passing stool, I had a relatively copious amount of bright red blood, almost watery, appear on multiple pieces of toilet paper when wiping; I stopped as I did not wish to possibly irritate things (and also because the sight of blood freaks me out). There is no blood running down my backside or thighs; I called the specialist's office and they stated that as long as I didn't see something along those lines that I should be okay until the visit that I set-up with them for a week from today. Chicken that I am, I haven't wiped my behind to check again (although I'll do that shortly). Anyway, after all this, here's my question: As a near daily masturbator (aggressive, prolonged sessions, I might add, usually done sitting), might I be irritating my hemorrhoids? In particular, could it be that three nights in a row of extremely lengthy, forceful masturbation (achieving an erection, stopping, achieving an erection again, stopping, this going on for hours before finally ejaculating, and, again, largely done while sitting) might have led to today's more pronounced bleeding? I'll broach the issue with the specialist next week, but, in the interim, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks in advance!

I've just woke up in this early morning thinking if there's such a link between masturbation and hemorrhoids. I did an online search on this and I came across your posts. After reading all of your stories I think that it might have to do one thing with the other, and here is why, in my opinion:
When you masturbate manually, did you notice that your anus muscles are contracted? When muscles are contracted, the blood flow in the anus is fairly diminished, so blood stagnation and pressure occurs, which over time leads to veins disorders like hemorrhoids. This thing happens faster to the guys that practice edging masturbation just because the longer time periods they are doing it. It's like what happens to a gym guy..the longer he trains, the longer he's veins are more protruding and engorged.
I like edging to, and I couldn't believe my doctor when he told me that I have internal hemorrhoids at 40, being a 5'6" very slim guy !
So what can we do to avoid this?

That got me thinking: why is this happening? And here is what I came up with: As I previously said, when you are manually masturbating very close to the edge the anus is strongly contracted , and stays like this for longer periods, as opposed to when you engage in intercourse sex with your partner when the anus muscles are not contracted all the time because of the in-out movements!
So, to avoid this problems you need to avoid longer periods of anus muscles contracting by relaxing your anus muscles, to avoid blood stagnation in that area.

holy shaznit, I do 'edging' too. Loved it when I first started it in my late teens. 33 now, but I have internal hemmroids too, little suckers always protruding after a BM,...but I am wondering now, if they would shrink if I went 'coldturkey', just to try for a week or two. Idontknow, I cant go without masterbating for even one night, or else I'll be fiending pretty bad for that day,...(so tough being a guy)

and dudes I have to ask, I have a bad smell that accompanies me after a BM, I know it must be associated with the hermies, but do u guys notice a poop smell clinging to u after a BM and your hemms are flaring?

I am a chronic masturbator....I like doing what is called "edging" - where you masturbate just shy of climax over and over and over.  As a result of being addicted to this behavior, I got a bad case of internal hemorrhoids and ended up having to have an expensive surgery to remove the hemorrhoids (which were bleeding).

nah, thats a thing. happens to me. i can have sex all day, maybe get a mild discomfort chill,  but if i do it without a woman...bamn, flaring roids, and im too goosebumped to want to be around anyone for a couple of days. craziest thing. as long as i dont, though, im good with my wood and tight with my behind

The issue is going to be that you really have no treatments done so far for your hemorrhoids. Many things can irritate them, bowel movements, aggressive wiping,etc. The masturbation part is really not going to be an issue, unless you were inserting something into your anus as a part of it.

Start using tucks over the next week or so and I guarantee your symptoms will decrease quickly and effectively. Dont avoid wiping, in fear of seeing blood, as feces on your hemorrhoids will only worsen your symptoms. You need to keep them clean as much as possible. Try using baby wipes instead of toilet paper, and finish off with a tucks pad. See if your GI specialists will prescribe you an ointment to apply as well.
