Could this be gallstones?

About 07/08 I would have these middle of the stomach, super sharp stabbing pains that would include knocking my breath away. Plus I would have right shoulder blade pain. All symptoms of gallstone attack. About 08 I had an ultrasound which showed negative for stones but I also know ultrasounds aren't that great for diagnosing.

He said the next step was ERCP. I said forget it. (terrified of the test).

Now I don't have those stabbing stomach pains/blade pain anymore but more of a 24 hour nausea, feels like I overate, spitting up (vomit) and vomited last week once severely with no fever, chills, food poisioning or any other symptom. It was so weird to eat and then middle of the night get stabbing pains/nausea/water brash and then projectile/severe vomiting. And that was it--no flu symptoms.

I got sick of it and made an appt. with a gastro doc for next month (best they could do). I asked for a MRCP. Would that 100% show gallstones? I figured if I have stones, let's work backwards with tests such as MRCP rarther than ERCP or other endoscopic technique for GERD biopsies, etc.
