Ct shows spots on the liver

My brother was recently diagnosed with a melanoma on his leg.  A ct scan of his abdomen showed some small spots on his liver, but he was told they are not tumors.  Not having any insurance, our county program sent him for this testing.  My concern is the fact that he IS on a county program and may be getting inadequate care.  Taking the least expensive way out.  My question AND major concern is, since he had been taking aleve for his pain, three pills EVERY three hours for a minimum of two weeks, could this be the cause of the spots?  He was told after the ct that he is in stage 4 and that no treatment will help.  I however am very uncomfortable with this....If these spots are from nsaid damage, then he may not be in stage 4 and treatment WILL help.  Can anyone give me any direction or opinion?  I would like to see images of a liver that shows early nsaid damage.  I need some peace.  Thanks...Dawn
