x-ray, both of which were normal. So far crohns and colitis have been ruled out. Last week he did a endoscopy to check my stomach and small intestine. I am still waiting on the results of those biopsies. Since the end of august I have lost 15 pounds. I have been to the ER twice with heart palpitations and on the second visit my calcium level was 10.5, which surprised me because I have no been drinking milk or eating diary. I am pretty sure my body is not breaking down and absorbing the nutrients because I have no energy and there is usually undigested food in my stool. My stool also floats more then sinks.
I am a 23 old male, who was very active before I started to feel ill. I am worried that I am having malabsorption problems since I have been losing weight and that my pancreas may not be functioning properly since my body is not breaking down foods. I have also noticed that my joints have been cracking a lot more. Any help you could give me would be great, the more info the better. Thanks.
I am older than you by >> yearsLOL, however, I began the same as you with stomach pains, cramps, dirrahea, floating stools and began losing weight. The weight was not a huge problem at the time because I was overweight. But I was miserable and got to where I didn't want to leave home or make plans even to be at church due to this situation. I knew, if I ate anything...I could just hang it up. Followed all the same routine tests as you but all were normal. They finally did a abd. CT scan and saw gallstones. Then they did a contrast study to check the function of the gallbladder and it was so diseased that it didn't even show up on that study. They did it 2x in one afternoon and finally saw the faint outline of it. They took it out (after I had lost 85lbs!). My weight is maintaining now but I still have to be careful because I have been diagnosed with an pancreatic enzyme problem for which there is a very expensive med (Zenpep). It works but hurts the pocketbook. Have to be careful about fat, proteins and sugar. Have felt 100% better since the gallbladder has been gone.
