Diarrhea with Mucous and Blood

Diarrhea with Mucous and Blood

Rushed home from soccer practice last evening with a sudden bout of Diarrhea that lasted through the night and continues this evening, although not as frequent during the day today.  Off and on (mostly on) it's been very mucousy and bloody (brighter red), although the quantity has never been say more than 1/4 cup or so.  I also feel slightly bloated/gassy.  No temperature or vomitting.  I'm drinking plenty of water and been able to keep down/in soup and crackers.  Any thoughts?  How concerned should I be, especially about the blood?

Any time you have blood in the stool, you need to go talk to your doctor and figure out the source of the bleeding.  Please don't put it off.

HI!
I had the same and I have been battling this for over a month. I had an infection and have been on 3 different antibiotics to try and cure it...don't put this off....go to DR immediately!

Looks like it went away...back to solid foods, solid bowel movements, slight blood and mucous residue, but definitely subsiding.

I'm so glad that you're doing better!  If it happens again, please do some further investigation with your doctor.  :-)
