I was born with a nuroblastoma 23 years ago, the tumor was removed successfully but ever since the operation I have Cronic (chronic) diarrhoea. Doctors have done loads of tests and stiill don't have a definitive answer. At the moment I take imodium (immodium) on a daily basis but it barley touches the sides. Any help or advise would be appriciated
You're going to think this is crazy just like I did......a very good friend of mine had extreme diarrhea which she could barely control. If she had plans to go out she couldn't eat and knew where every bathroom was anywhere we did go.
To make a long story short, doctors could find nothing wrong with her and no medication helped her. One day while we were at the mall....she lost control of her bowels trying to get to the restroom. In tears and horribly embarrassed we went straight home. I sat and talked with her for awhile and we got to talking about what her Aunt had been trying for years to get my friend to try to control the diarrhea. We both felt it was hokey but now desperate times called for desperate measures. Her Aunt told her to mix a tablespoon of Knox Gelatin with some orange juice every morning, drink it and that she may have to play around with the amount of gelatin that would work for best her. I ran to the store and bought the Knox Gelatin and gave it to my friend, not expecting anything to come of it. She did exactly as her Aunt had said and she never suffered another day! There's something about the gelatin forming the stool. This was 20 years ago and my friend does this religiously every morning. From day one she has been fine! She no longer has the severe diarrhea...in fact she doesn't even have diarrhea and this has turned her life totally around. It can't hurt you and is well worth trying. My friend only wishes she had tried it sooner. I hope this helps as I know what this is like. Best wishes.
