Digestion problems that won't budge

Digestion problems that won't budge

I have weight gain, difficult weight loss, constant acid after eating and gas.  I have been told by a naturopath that I have a 'meterorism' which is something interfering with my digestion in my intestines.  Also, my stomach is underactive.  I've been on herbs for months to no avail.

Any suggestions for diagnosis?

hi, i think you should have tests for gerd(acid reflux) i.e, helicobacter-pylori breathe test, then follow up with an endoscopy to look inside your oesaphagus and stomach, that would be a good start to find out exactly your condition, good luck

Do a search on Celiacs Disease or Gluten Intollerance.  I think you may be amazed at how gluten effects the health of millions of people and doctors know nothing of this.  The reason they wont diagnose someone with Celiacs Disease is there is no treatment for it other than cutting out all gluten.  Try a diet change and see what happens.  If you are gluten intollerant you should see improvements in 48 hours or less.  Good luck.

Thanks!  Had the breath test and a full blood test on Saturday, will followup with the endoscopy if needed.  Also looking at how much & what I eat, for which my body's tolerance has changed over the years.

Regards, Robyn
