Distended upper abdomen

My upper abdomen is hard and distended now for 1 month since having gyn surgery (endometrial ablation, D and C & hystoscopy).   My gyn doesn't know what the problem is, since my surgery was in the lower area.  I've been burping a lot, too.  My bowels have been normal, except 2 days after surgery, I was very constipated.  I would like to know if this will dissipate on it's own or if I'm going to need to see a specialist and/or have more tests done.  I know there is a chance of having  bowels knicked during this surgery, but I don't think I have those symptoms.  Thanks for your help since my doctor is not familiar with this.
