My mother will be having Diverticulitis Surgery any day now. It hasn't been scheduled yet. Is there anything I can do? What will make her hospital stay more comfortable with that type of surgery?

She has an infection. They are wanting to remove the damaged part of her colon. But now her doctor wants to wait a few days and see how she does on IV antibotics. The surgeon want to do the surgery. This is her second attack.
