Divertoculosis Complications

by Harley, Jun 13, 2001 12:00AM
According to a colonoscopy I have performed the doctor said I had mild diverticulosis and it didn't require surgery. Sometimes there is pain and nausea and I feel blah!!

Does anyone know if it can leak into your system causing these problems?

My sister had a diverticula rupture which caused severe abdominal
pain, high fever and possible surgery.  I know you can also get small pinhole size leaks which can cause bacteria to leak out into your abdominal tract.  This can be treated with antibiotics. Just be concerned if the pain gets severe and you get fevers.
