Does a low/non functioning gallbladder cause food to digest slower?

As I've mentioned before, I have a HIDA scan schedule for Monday due to right upper quadrant pain that is very constant but the severity varies. I know the HIDA checks for a malfunctioning gallbladder. I have noticed that when I eat a normal size meal, or even smaller meals, I'm stay full/satisfied for much longer than I normally would. I've always had a big appetite, especially if I miss a meal, but lately, I can have a small breakfast and still not be hungry until that night. Any correlation or does anyone have a similar experience?

I experience the same easier-to-get-feel-full thing when I eat, too.   I got a 27% gall bladder fraction on my HIDA, with pain and nausea--below normal, but not cause enough for surgery.       For now, I chalk it up as a blessing...I am not underweight.   Maybe I can finally lose enough weight and maybe then the symptoms will take care of themselves.

My daughter had severe nausea when she had her HIDA done ..her main complaint was nausea and/or significant reflux that would come for no reason and usually passed off as viral gastroenteritis until this last episode ..

Gastro reflux churned about 48hrs before an "attack" ocurred but on a daily basis her issues were more intestinal/stomach strapping pain and loose stools and then would go away within 36-48hrs.  Not a longer time inbetween meals for hunger, or anything like that.  Greasy foods always did not agree about 20min-45mins later but not classic gallbladder type pain .. more stomach strapping pain.

Her HIDA took a very long time to complete bcz in the end her # was only 5% ... the tech told me they give it 30mins for the nuclear stuff to reach the gallbladder and it took hers about 25mins and it appeared but was extremely sluggish and at the end of the test was still glowing in the gallbladder when only a trace could be seen in her intestines.

Good luck with the test .. it took 1.5hrs + wait/prep time .. I hope you get a difinitive answer .. they see how you react to the gallbladder contracting and make notes of your physical pain or lack thereof so this is a great test bcz itis computer, visual, + human factor!!!!
