Does daily magnesium citrate cause laxative-dependence when used longterm?

I'd like to take around 225 to 450mg of elemental magnesium in the form of magnesium citrate,
i am not sure how much grams of citrate this is but 1 pill = 225mg elemental magnesium.

I take it because my body benefits from it,
and as a positive side effect i notice it helps me go to the toilet at least once daily.

I don't really have a constipation problem,
and i'm worried that if i take the magnesium long term i might end up with one
because my body could possibly become dependent on this laxative?

I've read somewhere that "Magnesium Citrate is an osmotic laxative, which means it doesn't cause dependency",
but i'm not sure if that's true!
