Drainage and pain after sphincterotomy

by vik78, Sep 10, 2008 01:53PM
I had sphincterotomy done week and half ago. I am experiencing drainage, thick mucuos fluid comes out on/off. my pain during and after bowel movements has subsided. I talked to my surgeon and he is saying that is the area where incision was made. Is this level of pain normal? am i developing/have developed infection/absecess. how can i tell if it is just post surgical discomfort or absecess?

Thanks so much
