Dumping Syndrome

by MarkAews, Feb 10, 2002 12:00AM
Is it possible to have dumping syndrome WITHOUT any form of stomach surgery?
I was wondering all this because after i eat, it feels very heavy just above my navel like my stomach doesnt have control over anything.
I don't think its gastroparesis cause i've never vomitted at all, and i've never had reflux or heartburn.

I had a partial removal of my stomach 5 years ago and have suffered from dumping syndrome since. My symptoms are severe nausea and diarreah. There has been occasional vomiting. If you have true dumping syndrome you will have little tollerance for sugar based liquids like fruit juice, yogurts with fruit, and basically anything containing a lot of sugar.  It sounds to me like you have a form of gastric reflux..a friend suffers from it and has symptoms similar to yours.  Hope this helps.
