EG Question

by missy72450, Jun 11, 2009 12:37AM
How can one get a physicians office to take her seriously? I am 48 years old and have been diagnosed with EG for 12 years. Having had to be on IV steriods on a few occasions and PO prednisone on more occasions than I would like to count I recently felt the old visitor return. After losing 5 pound over one horrible weekend I called the physicians office to number one get an appointment and number two find out the dose of prednisone to start with. I am an RN myself and having spoken with the nurse in the office I was dismissed with a script for zofran and appointment for more than a week away, that could potentially be abother 10-20 punds ( I have lost 16 in 5 days before). Luckily I have predinsone in the medicine cabinet and a little knowledge. Do immunologist have knowledge of this disorder?
