EGD

I JUST HAD AN EGD THE OTHER DAY. THE IMPRESSION BY THE DOCTOR WAS ESOPHAGUS WAS NORMAL, STOMACH HAD MILD GRANULAR GASTROPATHY AND MILD PATULOUS CARDIA, OTHERWISE  NORMAL EXAMINATION OF STOMACH. SHE ORDERED A BIOPICY. WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN AND IN HER COMMENT OTHERWISE NORMAL EXAMINATION, DOES THAT MEAN EVERYTHING ELSE IS OK!

Hi there!

Yes, this means that everything else was otherwise normal while the findings of gastropathy/ patulous cardia being mild are nor particularly abnormal. A biopsy is usually take in the situation to be on the safer side. You may like to discuss the findings in detail with your treating gastroenterologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
