Eating Disorders

Hi. my name is cody and i am a 20 year old male. I have always been on the light side and never ate a whole lot but lately i feel sick to my stomach when i try to eat a meal. I am sure this is not a mental illness like anorexia because i have never had any doubting thoughts or worries about my appearance. this has started recently and im concerned on what it may be. i just feel sick and weak and i am lost. help?

Thank you for your response. Today has been one of my better days and i was able to eat more then previously.  I had not thought of sensitivities as an option before but i can see how it could be true.  Until then i have just been trying to eat a proper balance of foods and drink mostly water and i will consult a doctor in the near future if the problem persists.  I am  living in high hopes that it is something as simple as you say and nothing serious.Thank you.

You might actually have food sensitivities that are making you feel ill.  These are slightly different from food allergies, because the standard allergy tests can't detect such allergies.  I would encourage you to find a naturopath and get help and direction going through an elimination diet to help you determine which foods are causing the digestive symptoms.  This is more common than conventional medicine alone recognizes.  Conventional doctors who recognize an integrative approach will understand what the elimination diet is for but has no expertise on how to guide you through the process.  The fact that they recognize food sensitivities is still a really good thing, though.
