Elavil and Gast. Disorders help or hinderence?

by Laura, Jan 31, 2000 12:00AM
My son was on Elavil for 1yr. 10 to 20mgs. per day.  There are places I have read that Elavil could be a culprit in GI disorders but now i am reading that in circumstances of Chronic Vomiting Disorders and esp. Abdominal Migraine Elavil helps.

Can someone comment on this or have experience with this.  How long would it take for Elavil to be completely out of one;s system.

Thank you,  Laura

I was put on Elavil for borborygmi. It helps a little - I've suffered no adverse side effects.

I would be interested to know the answer to that question, also.  I have been recently been diagnosed with gastroparesis and I am on Elavil and have ben for years.
