Elevated Alkaline Phosphatase

by Ami, Mar 22, 2002 12:00AM
I have posted before about my RUQ abdominal pain/problems, how I thought it was gallbladder, etc.  I have been through all the tests (there's another thread on that) and nothing has shown gallstones.  I had a HIDA scan done that showed the GB functioning at 22%, which is below normal.
I met with a surgeon, who essentially told me that there was not enough evidence to operate.
Ever since January of this year, when my liver levels have been checked (about once a month), my alkaline phosphatase has been increasing.  In January, it was 102.  In February, it was 108.  Now, in March, is it 119.  This is really scaring me.  This is the enzyme that elevates when there is something wrong with the gallbladder.
I am going back to my gastro doc on Tuesday.  What can I say/do to make him see that something has to be done?  I just keep getting the "There's nothing wrong, there's nothing we need to do, etc." speech.  I'm tired of it.  There IS something wrong, and I'm convinced it's my gallbladder.
Help!
Thanks in advance.
