Enlarged Liver

I had an ultrasound because my enzymes were slightly elevated and the report says liver enlarged 18.5cm length right lobe. spleen is mildly enlarged, measuring 14.2 cm length. Hepatic echotexture is diffusely mildly coarsened and heterogeneous. I am scared. my appointment w/ the GI is in 2 months...in the meantime, what do you guys think??

Two months?!!!  What torture!  Since nobody on this forum is an MD, I'm not sure how much assitance you will find.  Since the spleen filters out worn out blood cells, it sounds like something of an infectious nature.  Since you must wait a relative eternity for an appointment, I would strongly suggest that you stop all alcohol intake.  I'm not suggesting you're an alcoholic at all: just that it would be bad for you right now.  Frankly, I think you have good reason to be concerned right now, so eat right and avoid alocohol and do all the "healthy" things you can until you can get in with your GI doc.

I was washing down xanax with lots of beer, however
I have stopped completely since the ultrasound results.
