Enlarged common bile duct

Hello! What are the possible reasons for an enlarged common bile duct. I have had some severe pain in the upper abdomen and had an ultrasound. That is when they found the duct enlarged. Also, probably unrelated, I have Type 1 diabetes and recurring bacteria in my urinalysis. Thanks for any help!
