Enlarged liver

by K8843, Feb 08, 2008 08:37PM
My regular doctor recently did a blood test to find out why I feel so tired all the time and the results show an iron overload in my blood. So I went to a hemotologist and she did genetic testing which came back negative for hemochromatosis (i have read this genetic testing is flawed?) also she ordered an MRI of my abdomen which showed a tiny cyst on my liver. Also it showed my liver is enlarged. Recently I've been having dull achey (achy) pain right near my ribcage on the right side. Sometimes it starts throbbing. The doctor said that my iron levels aren't high enough for any treatment and to come back in 3 months. She claimed that I had no symptoms even though I feel exhausted and weak all the time and joint pain in my wrists, knees, and shoulder comes and goes. I don't take anything for this pain becuase i'm afraid of the effects it might have on the liver. So I went to another hemotologist and he said the same thing. I also have hypothyroidism and so i went to my endocrinologist to see if he had any suggestions (I am really desperate) and he said my doctor should really be doing something but that he couldn't do anything.
Does anyone have any similar experiences or advice?
