Esophagal spasm

I had a hyatus hernia repair last September. When various test were done before the surgery I was told that I have Esophagus that goes into spasm. I was told that the surgery could lessen the symptoms or make them worse.

One year on, I have been getting a feeling of heavyness in my chest and a feeling of my breath going back on itself. It is making me feel breathless at times and by about 5 in the evening I have no energy at all. Could this be a problem with my esophagus or could it be asthma ?
