Esophagitis

Hi all,

Two question for you.  My doc think I have esophagitis (I have mild pain when swallowing, not burring pain, more like muscle pull pain, but when I swallow). Anyway, I have been on a PPI (nexium) for almost a month now while waiting for an appointment with a gastro.  So, I have two questions:

1. If I do have esophagitis, how long will it take to heal and be symptom free?
2. I love coffee, which I should not drink.  Is decaf okay?

Cheers,
Dave

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  It could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to even longer for it to heal.  Decaf is okay as long as you are not drinking too much of it.
