Exhausted from surgery or something else?

Hello. I am a 34 yr-old caucasion male.  Prior to last spring I was in terrific shape.  I had a total colectomy w/ ileo-rectal anastamosis on June 22nd. The laporoscopic surgery went fine until my bowels went to sleep and I began to vomit. After a week of drainage from my belly everything started working and I was released. On Oct 10, my small bowel flipped, herniated and ruptured at the anastasmosis site causing emergency surgery and ended up in the ICU. This left me with an ileostomy until Jan 13th, at which time I had a reversal and ended up back in the ICU. On Jan 19th the ostomy take down site ruptured and I had to have it opened. I preceded to pack it with salene gauze until it closed in March. I found I had Mononucleosis in March as well. All in all I guess I am healthy, but I am exhausted.   I am on omneprazole for GERD and a hiatal hernia. I also use lunesta to sleep. It is understood that I have FAP and have been through a wide array of test, tomorrow being a thyroid blood test.  I will have to be checked every 3 months for the rest of my life for polyps/growths throughout my entire GI tract as I have had some removed from my stomach as well.  I am ok with this.

I am happy to be alive considering that I could have died twice in the past few months.  My diet is healthy and I am trying to get back on track to start working out again.  I am just having a difficult time with my energy levels.  I am back to work after 6 months of healing, tests and surgeries. I seem to get exhausted very easily and to be honest am tired of being tired!  Does anyone have any explanation or can relate to this exhaustion?

Thank you for the response. I have not had my iron levels checked that I am aware of. I plan to mention that to my doctors.

How are your hemoglobin and iron levels. One possible explanation could be that you lost so much blood from all the surgeries and other problems that your blood count is not at a normal level.
