by for2fied, Aug 01, 2009 10:17PM
HX: I'm 26 and last year I was dx with Gastroparesis ( I m not a diabetic), severe Gerd, and Chronic gastritis and I even have a hiatel hernia. I was rx Reglan but advised not to take it long term. My symptoms upon dx where, 2 months of nausea/vomiting, I was on a liquid diet. Miserable!!! I lost over 40 lbs. in 2 months.

History of present illness: I'm miserable again!!! I have different symptoms this go around. I am loosing 6lbs a week on average. I am having 6-12 bowel movements a day, severe abdominal cramping, nausea, heartburn, difficulty swallowing at times. I burp alot and it taste discusting. I have a lot of gas and questionable rectal bleeding. I have had a cough for months with no sinus drainage or anything of that nature, is that related to the hernia. I do have a DR.s appt but It is about a week out. What can I do, I can barely hold water in. I have a 5 year old to take care of and have no energy, What do I do, what should I expect. Is this the dark side of Gaterparesis or is this Ibs or ??? I;m 26, way to young for all of this. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! ANy suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!!

I read up on Gastroparesis and there is no mention of diarreah being a sympton.
Signs and symptoms of gastroparesis are

heartburn
pain in the upper abdomen
nausea
vomiting of undigested food—sometimes several hours after a meal
early feeling of fullness after only a few bites of food
weight loss due to poor absorption of nutrients or low calorie intake
abdominal bloating
high and low blood glucose levels
lack of appetite
gastroesophageal reflux
spasms in the stomach area
Eating solid foods, high-fiber foods such as raw fruits and vegetables, fatty foods, or drinks high in fat or carbonation may contribute to these symptoms.

The symptoms of gastroparesis may be mild or severe, depending on the person. Symptoms can happen frequently in some people and less often in others. Many people with gastroparesis experience a wide range of symptoms, and sometimes the disorder is difficult for the physician to diagnose.

You should see a doctor asap. Maybe go to an Emergency room if your weight loss is so great.
