Fast Digestion

I seem to have a extremely fast digestion...for example, I ate grapefruit and passed grapefruit pieces only 4 hours later.  Is this normal?  I also get nausea, diarrhea, cramping and an extremely large amount of gas.  Any ideas?

Hi, certain foods are digested faster than others. If fast digestion is associated with nausea, diarrhea, cramping and flatulence, then your symptoms could be due to an infection or malabsorption. You will need to consult your primary care physician, who may run blood, urine and stool tests and may sometimes ask for an ultrasonography or colonoscopy to detect the cause for your symptoms. Regards.
