Fatty Tissue

by gene236, Feb 04, 2009 09:43AM
Following a CT scan I was informed that there was fatty tissue on my pancreas. What causes this fatty tissue, and can it be dealt with? Also, does this fatty tissue pose a threat to my health, and is it an indication of a more serious problem in the future?

The most typical cause is over-weight problems which can lead to fatty deposition in a number of organs including the pancreas. Fatty infiltration whether due to weight problems or diabetes can over time can cause problems. You should discuss this with your doc.
