I've been having right lower abdominal pain and right leg pain since Oct. of 2009 and also stomach problems since the begining of the year. An colonscopy and ultra sound test come back negative. In Oct. I had a CT and MRI done which showed a cyst on my right ovary but after a month through an ultrasound showed that it was gone after I saw an Gynecolist twice. So back to my personal physician and he sends me to see an general and Gastrointestinal Surgery and he looks over my past results and says I still have the cyst and sends my to have another Ct. I got my results today and like before the cyst is gone but it shows there's a density within the appendix
appendicitis, and I would think it would still have to come out. You have the physical symptoms of appendicitis. I would ask the doctor what if anything is to be done about your appendix, why, why not. Your getting pain from somewhere and if this is the only thing they can find, then I don't see why they don't go ahead and remove it. You need a good explanation of why you have these physical symptoms of appendicitis, the calcification, yet nothing is being done. Be persistent and get a second opinion if necessary. I know they used to always remove the calcified appendix because they would let the patient have it and they would wear theirs on a necklace and such. Keep persuing this until you have the answers you need.
Take care....
