About a month ago i ate a store bought cherry pie. When i got home i ate it. I was almost done with it when i swallowed and felt something sharp going down my throat
. I guess i didn't chew the whole thing completely because then i would have felt it in my mouth and i wouldn't have swallowed. This scared me because i didn't know what it was. I am assuming it was a pit or a piece of the seed that went down my throat
and that feeling is there constantly. I did consider going to the ER because i was concerned. I didn't go but i did call and they told me that as long as i could breath
a little bit. There is a little pain but it's not too bad. Mostly it feels like i have a sore throat and once in while it kind of makes me want to cough, but it's not very often. I went to an ENT specialist today and they put a camera in to see if there was any foreign object there but the doctor didn't see anything. He feels that i have nothing there and that it probably is acid reflux. So he told me to take prilosec and then go back in two months to see if im better. I understand that he couldn't see anything there but i know what i feel and this has never happened to me before. I do feel like something is there and that it moves from time to time. This is just so frustrating! I wish i could get rid of it. Does anyone have any advice for me?
There is a sensation that can accompany reflux issues called globus. It's a sensation of having a lump in the throat. If that's what is going on and you can tamp down the reflux issues, the sensation should slowly fade but it's not going to go away quickly.
