Four hour bug?

About an hour after we had dinner last night, my fiancé's stomach started bothering him. But since he has off & on [suspected] IBS, it happens often.  He just had to run to the toilet a couple of times.

He woke me  up around 5 a.m. saying that he didn't feel very well. He had SEVERE chills and seemed to be burping a lot, which made me think that it was indigestion. He got up and vomited one good time and after that, he still had chills but felt a little better.

He went back to sleep and when he woke back up in two hours, he was feeling completely better and was able to go to work.  And instead of having those chills, he actually had the covers off of him. I think it's the weirdest thing because if it were the stomach flu, this would've gone on throughout the day. And if it were food poisoning, it wouldn't have kicked in till much later.

Anyone know what could've been happening here? I was very worried this morning and thought about calling the E.R., and now it's over.
Thanks a ton for your help!

When I took 300mg of Tazac.  I had that chilled all night long.  So I took 150mg then no more chill and sleep soundly.  Last night, I think I ate a little bit over in the dinner.  Very nausea, reflux (it went up to my throat and inner ear canel.  After 8 hours, the burping still can taste the food that I ate in dinner.

If he is long term like that, I suggest you ask him to talk to your GP.  He could be like me, having a lazy stomach!  Hope he'll getting better soon.

Here's a thought...maybe it wasn't dinner, but lunch that had upset his stomach?  Food poisoning doesn't get a physical symptom/reaction until four or five hours after eating, and usually once all the "contaminated" food has left the system, you're good to go.  (no pun intended)

Just a thought.
