Four years of suffering still no answer

by lmbl, Apr 05, 2009 02:49PM
Dear Doctor, I am a 36 year old women who was told I have crohn's four years ago after being in the hospital for a week and not being able to eat for two and ahalf weeks I was put on 6mp that started to toxify my liver so I was taken off it. Then I was told we are not so sure you have cronh's. I have been through 3 GI doctor's, had my gall bladder remove and no one can figure out why I am still having diarrhea. My GI doctor's pretty much gave up. So my regular physician has still been working with me. The test we did last was an upper GI which he found inflammation in my stomach but can not explain why. I have very bad low back pain, extreme stomach pain, excessive gas, sometimes I get nause after I eat and the diarrhea keeps coming and going and my weight goes up and down, I have been this way now for four years. My osetopath doctor said there is something wrong with my stomach and someone needs to found the problem. I can not take this any longer please help me. Living with diarrhea and pain constently and no answers. Please help me. LMBL

Lmbl, there are no docs on this side of the forum. If you'd like to post your question to a doc, you need to post on Dr. Pho's board on the 'Ask a Doctor' section. Make sure you read through the postings so you'll see how to phrase your question to get the most out of the fee you will spend to post there.

If the dr thinks you have chrons but is not sure, have them test you for the chrons gene.

My chrons was bad and I had bowel resection because of a fistula.  However, I still have diarrhea and that is something that chrons suffers have.  Sometimes my movements are normal but off I have diarrhea.  My chrons is in remission and now is considered mild chrons.  There is no cure but there is treatment.

Good luck.  And let us know what you find out.
