Frequent burping - diareah - please read.

I'm going to list the chain of events and so please read and give advice- I feel like I will be burping every 15-20 minutes for the rest of my life and it is making me anxious:

(last ) Tuesday :    ate pasta at restaurant and after had some mild nausea (no idea if this is related or not)
Wednesday:  cold chills - left work early - fever- body aches
Thursday: bed ridden -same as Wednesday (tongue covered in mucus) , burping frequently starts:
Friday: sick with fever same as thursday/friday
Saturday: went to Doctor got prescription for antibiotics  – I believe diarrhea started after med’s

Monday – Thursday this week – diarrhea 3-4 times each day mostly in the morning up to 2pm – yellow, water consistency  - nausea very strong in the mornings / hunger pains regardless if stomach full or not.

Burping every 15-20 minutes day and night regardless if stomach full or not.
Stomach seems more settled in the evening and very sick in the morning.

^ Can anyone help with this... I do not have any heartburn just burping every 15-20 minutes and very loose yellow diareah ......
i have not thrown up during any of this either.

Hey, I'd like to hear your story with Cipro diarrhea (or what were the symptoms). Time course and especially the probiotic part. On which day of antibiotic diarrhea started?

Get a stool culture pronto.  You can also try taking acidophilus pills (the stuff that's in yogurt).  It helps the "good" bacteria grow back after taking antibiotics )antibiotics kill all bacteria-good and bad.  So it important to get the "good" going again.  It helped me tremendously after taking a round of Cipro antibiotics.  I thought I had colon cancer after taking that stuff.  You can find those pills at a healthfood store.  They should be refrigerated.
Also, make sure you're drinking a ton of water.

Do you have a chance to check, if anyone other who ate that pasta got sick? You might want to ask the waiter or the cook. Just an idea. If it was from pasta, then this is a food poisoning - from bacteria, or parasites.

If your diarrhea is not so bad or explosive, but rather mild, then it is even more probably from parasites, like Giardia - these infections strat slowly and without proper treatment extend through weeks. Burping (may have sulpurous smell) and yellow/green diarrhea is often in Giardia.

Diarrhea is not likely from antibiotics. Food poisoning may start with chills and fever and only after few days continue with diarrhea. So the diarhea maybe just started on the day when you started with antibiotic (but it would start anyway). It is possible that you would be allergic on antibiotic, but this is rare. The so called "antibiotic-associated-diarrhea usually occurs only after some days of taking antibiotics.

What to do:
You need a stool culture test to identify the microbe. Doctor has explicitely ask for parastite (+ bacteria) testing. I hope that (because of antibiotics) results won't be false negative. On the basis of results, antibiotic is prescribed.

quick follow up- on tuesday night (night of the restuarant) had some chest discomfort through the night but nothing since- no pain anywhere else just the diareah (started the day of meds which have since finished) and burping which started sometime a week ago and has not stopped.
