Thanks for the response. I know that my friend has been gived scans and blood tests for autoammune diseases and awhile ago she was tested for Lupus also. She has been tested for food allergies and that came up as not a cause. No travel out of the country and lives in San Jose, CA. Middle class educated young family early 30's. She's close to Stanford so maybe she needs to get in touch with someone there.
Hi,
How is your friend? Aside from gastrointestinal issues, prolonged vomiting may also be caused by conditions such as genitourinary causes, possible pregnancy, infection, medication side effect. Her complete medical history, including her occupation and recent travel history should also be evaluated. Additional imaging and diagnostic tests may need to be done such as ultrasound, CT scan or MRI. Further tests to rule out for possible underlying infection may include stool cultures, blood cultures, lumbar puncture. Take care and do keep us posted.
