outlet obstruction (at the level of the pylorous) due to ulcers that were active a long time ago and left scars there. The surgeon has suggested this Gastrojejunostomy in order to by-pass the passage of food from the stomach to the duodenum.
Has anyone undergone this surgery? Can anyone comment about results, post-operation sympthoms? Any information is welcome.
To: gastrojejunostomy for gastric outlet obstruction
I had this done about two months ago. I was in the hospital for five days. The first three days were the worst. But I have no regrets. When you can't eat hardly anything, you have very little energy, always tired. With three kids, you have to stay on top, and this is something that doesn't get better on its own. I was back on my feet in two weeks since the surgery was done. I feel better than I have in a long time and I have had my share through the years. I still take Nexium for my stomach for preventative measures.
I hope you are feeling better. I noticed how long it had been since this was posted.
