GI TRACT

ok im writin about my dad, let me start out saying back b4 christmas he was continously throwin up bile, he had test after test ran everything showed good... so they took out gall bladder... very next day throwing up bile again... so they redirected his bowels... stop the throwin up of bile... all this time he has not been eating... so the last couple of weeks he started eating and eating good... the first 5 or 6 days he was holding everything down... now he is throwing up 15 to 30 minutes after he eats throwing all his food up.... they have ran the test going down his throat, swallowing test, every test they can think of... they seem to think it is in his GI tract.... the other dr said it is from his surgery... please help he is withering down to nothing as far as weight.. and they are talking about a feeding tube until they can figure out what is causing this.... my dad says it feels like it is not going all the way down.... he is not naseuated or sick at his stomach or anything.. he has been in hospital for going on 4 months.. please. help.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Can you please list all of the tests he has had?  Has he had a gastric emptying scan?

no he has not had that one i just read about that test last night... he has ( i dont know the proper names for them) ct scans ( like 4 of them)  ultra sounds ( lots) going down his throat ( like 3 or 4 times) swallowing test ( 2 or 3 of them) the one where he drinks some stuff and they take pics  of it going down like every so often ( 2 of them) MRI's , there is more but my sis in law has copies of all the test he has done.. i just cant remember now...

I would recommed that he get a gastric emptying scan to check for gastroparesis.  Gastroparesis is slow emptying of the stomach and it can cause all of the symptoms you described.
