GallBladder Polyps

by lovemyavery, Oct 19, 2009 02:52PM
I have been sick for 3 weeks now.  Constant nausea and vomitting, as well as right sided upper quadrant pain under my ribs.  I had an ultrasound one year ago for right sided pain with showed a 4mm polyp in my gallbladder.  I had another us this past thursday with the added symptoms of nausea, vomitting and light colored stool.  This showed no stones but a 6mm and 4mm polyp.  Which means the original polyp grew to 6mm in one year and I have another one.  I go to see the GI doc tomorrow but had to see the NP cause it would be another three weeks to see my normal GI.  Any thoughts on this.  I have read that polyps should not cause concern, but I have been very very sick and having a lot of pain.

Thanks

The newer suggestion on polyps is that the GB should be removed if polyps are found. Many docs are no longer watching and waiting, they're treating them like polyps found elsewhere. It's now suggested that the GB be removed.
