Gallbladder, partial Gastrectomy, then FULL gastrectomy!

Gallbladder, partial Gastrectomy, then FULL gastrectomy!

My mom first had Laparoscopic Gall Bladder surgery due to having ulcers. After her surgery, she was in MORE pain than ever before. They discharged her from the hospital the next day even though she was begging them to keep her since she was in so much pain! She suffered with this excruiating pain for about a year, and finally the (same) doctor told her she needed to have a roux-en-y partial gastrectomy (partial removal of her stomach) or else she would die. She didn't understand, but went ahead and had the surgery. Immediately after surgery, she was having this excessive (pink color -looked like pepto bismo) drainage that the doctor could not understand. He left the drain in for a few days and finally took it out even though it was still draining a lot. My mom continued to be in a LOT of pain, having severe nausea & vomiting, and could eat hardly ANYTHING. They temporarily put a feeding tube in her stomach since she was so malnourished. She tolerated this for about a year or more. Then she finally went to another doctor who immediately asked her if she was jaundiced after she had her gallbladder surgery. (She had no idea why he asked that and he wouldn't divulge any info). This dr decided to take her FULL stomach out to try to eliminate her problems. This was about 2-3 years ago, and now she has a nose feeding tube & NO RELIEF at all from pain/nausea/vomiting.

The doctor who did her 1st two surgeries tried to act as if my mom was "over-reacting" to her pain & symptoms and tried to claim she had dementia. But ironically he did not charge her for her surgeries. When she went out of town for the 3rd srugery (total removal of stomach),  the doctor's acted as if they knew what was wrong but were afraid to say. NO doctor has offered her any type of explanation or "hope" -- and she has suffered unmercifully for the past 4-6 years!  She WAS a very healthy lady before she had the 1st surgery (gallbladder), other than having some mild pain from ulcers. I would love to hear from anyone with similar stories...or people in the medical field who may have medical advice -- like is it normal for a person to have excruciating pain after Gallbladder surgery (up to a year later....which would result in a partial gastrectomy(roux-en-y)....and then a total gastrectomy. And are there certain "clues" that would cause her to question either of these surgeries (like why the doctor asked her if she was jaundiced or if it's normal to have excessive pink drainage and for the doctor to pull the drain out before it stopped draining). I just feel really helpless and don't know what to do for my mother. I know how doctor's like to "take up" for one another (IF there WAS a medical mistake made) which is why we went out of town (but only 40 miles away). Maybe there is NO ANSWER ...I'm just grasping at straws...but I'm not giving up hope altogether. Hopefully there is some type of "relief" for my mom SOMEHOW to live at least a few years pain free. (She is 76).

Thanks for any help/advice/suggestions!
