. I am 5'2" and 180 lbs. I just recently delivered my second child. During my third trimester with my most recent pregnancy, I started to get a sharp pain randomly in my right upper abdominal area below the rib
cage. The pain would radiate toward my back and would cause nausea. After I deliver, I continued to have the pain. I went to a gastro specialist and he ordered an ultrasound to check for gallstones
and liver. Then my doctor ordered lab work but it came back normal. Next my doctor ordered a HIDA scan. My ejection percentage was 92%. However, my doctor claims that this is a normal percentage and he no longer wants to pursue the gallbladder area. From my research online, I have found that 92% is a very high percentage and that could be the reasoning for my pain. So my question for you, what is your medical opinion on this situation?
More doctors are realizing the high ejection fraction signals that something is amiss. I also had GB issues right after a miscarriage. I had the hida and had a high ejection fraction of 88%. My issues were pain like yours nausea and diarrheah. I had to deal with it a yr until I moved to another state and started seeing another dr. This dr did a hida and it was at 23%. So my gallbladder had been killed. I got it out and then found out I had sphincter of oddi which was causing it to go bad. The bile was backing up causing the pain and eating away my GB.
I would advise you to follow up with another dr. Perhaps retest in a few months. I read this article online about this issue. I will send it to you.
