I had my gallbladder removed April 2, 2008 and was so pleased when I didn't develop any of the problems you hear about with diarreah (diarrhea), etc after the gallbladder is removed. Unfortunately, I started having some pain in my right upper side under my rib
cage in July - 3 months after my surgery. Then in August, the diarreahs started. I understand all the bile constantly dripping into the small intestines that would otherwise be stored and slowly released by the gallbladder causing dumping
syndrom (syndrome), but what I can't figure out is why I did so well from April to July. Why didn't the bile constantly dripping into my small intestines cause the same issues from April to July???
I have found a product you can buy over the counter called Equalactin that really helps for those with dumping
syndrom (syndrome). It's for irratible bowel problems, but it works to bind the bile acids/salts and really helps with cramps and diarreah (diarrhea). Luckily, I always know several hours prior to having a problem because I get the same pain in my side as I had with my gallbladder. I just chew one or two of the Equalactin tablets and no more problem. When I ignore the pain in my side and don't take the Equalactin, I pay for it later with the diarreah (diarrhea) and terrible stomach cramps.
syndrom (syndrome) after gallbladder surgery. I also think someone should recheck their math. I've heard that only a few people have these problems - less than 15%. Well, 100% of everyone I've talked to have had these same problems after having their gallbladder removed, and I've talked to a lot of people before and after my surgery.
