Gallbladder Removed

by saramay23, Mar 30, 2009 08:24PM
I had my gallbladder removed a year ago. I suffered from many severe gallbladder attacks. Ever since the surgery i have been gaining weight over 50lbs since the surgery, I'm always tired, and nauseous, I never seem to have enough energy. I also get diarrhea frequently. I spent an entire summer last year running and I only gained more weight. I eat about 2 meals a day, not usually a lot. Im not sure why or how i gained so much weight and why I'm tired all the time. If anyone has any suggestions or advice I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank You!

You haven't said that youve seen a Doctor, but I would suggest gettng your thyroid checked.

Did you have the thyroid labs done with your other bloodwork? You need to check and make sure. The PROPER tests to be run for thyroid is TSH, Free T4 and Free T3. Are you having any particular symptoms other than weight gain?
If your a female, I would have your gyno check you for PCOS which causes abdominal pain and weight gain.

nothing to do with gallbladder removal...like everyone says get your Thyroid checked..I had those removed too.  That causes the wight gain and fatigue.

Best of luck to you!
