Gallbladder Surgery

Hey I have been having a ton of stomach problems for over a year now and random severe  stomach pain for 5 years. Have had several tests done and they didnt show up anything but I do have a vitmin B12 and D defficency since I started getting sick and I have lost a lil over 20lbs within a few months. I had a Gallbladder scan aka Hidious scan and it showed that my gallbladder doesnt functon correctly so Im suppose to get it removed on the 17th of this month. Im kind of nervous about it because Im not sure if its really the cause of my whole problem but I do think it is the reason for the pain for sure. Either way I think I do need it removed and if it would keep the pain from coming back I would be happy but I want to be fixed all the way and want to be normal again. Basically I was just wanting the people who have had their gallbladder removed to share how the surgery went. I know its nothing major but Im just worried about the recovery process I hate being in pain and the pain medicen they have is very strong and Im very sensetive to that kind of stuff and I hate being put to sleep because it always takes me a long time to wake up. I just want some insight on what other peoples symptoms where before they had their gallbladder removed and how the surgery and healing process went and what I should expect.

Yes gallbladder problems can definitely cause acid reflux... they kept telling me i had that, and I insisted it was more, and tada!!  Keep is posted on how you do with your surgery.

Oh ok sounds good. Sorry you had some complications with your surgery but Im glad your doing well now. I have been suffering for so long. Im ready to just get better. For the longest time I have been dignosed with Acid reflux and Gasteritis which is what they said caused my B12 defficency but I think if I get my gallbladder removed maybe all of my symptoms will go away and I wont have a B12 defficency anymore because I think my gallbladder is the reason my stomach produces to much acid. I have tried several acid reducers and I still get pretty sick somedays  I cant eat or drink certain things when I use to be fine. Im deffinatly getting the surgery done I was just worried it wouldnt help with all of my symptoms but It sounds like our symptoms are similar. A lot of times Im constantly belching weather I eat or not and its been so bad that it will just make me start dry heaving. Its horrible but I have heard the gallbladder cause cause that as well. Thanks for the advice. Glad it worked out for you!

Hi there, I had the same thing as you, all my tests were good except the HIDA scan showing it wasnt functioning properly.  I also lost alot of weight prior (45 lbs) I had mine out a month ago and I am doing really well, no more pain, nausea, vomiting and I can eat again... given I still cant eat super fatty or greasy food, but i feel great!  I was in pain for 7 months with chronic gallbladder problems, and I am very glad I had it done, as for the healing process the first week was tough (but i had abnormal problems even my surgeon has never experienced) I only took my pain meds for 48 hrs after the surgery.  Keep in mind after the surgery you will have to eat a lower fat diet, if you have any dairy stick to non fat and skim..and ease your self back into things, i take digestive enzymes if I am having a larger meal then normal and I have been perfectly fine.  I say go for it, dont wait 7 months like i did.  if you ahve any questions drop me a message on here.  Good luck!
