Gallbladder polyps

by KC411, May 18, 2009 07:45AM
I have been diagnosed with a couple of small <4 mm polyps in my gallbladder.  I also have a low ejection fraction 18% result on my HIDA scan.  The surgeon I saw told me to wait and see if I can live with the discomfort and not to rush into surgery.  He did say I am not in any danger of perforation or infection of the gallbladder.  My question is does the build up of bile in the GB cause polyps?  And can the build-up eventually lead to infection if the GB doesn't empty completely?  I have been losing weight and down to 103 lbs so wondering how long I should wait?  Thanks for your help.
