Hello, I have had a problem with pain in my lower left abdomin (abdomen) for about a year. It comes once a month or every other month. Usually after I have eaten dinner and I had eaten brocolli or after I fight with my boyfriend. This usually happens about the time when I ovulate. Anyway, I had a colonoscopy that came out normalNormal saline flush. I had my gallbladder removed about a year and a half ago. When the gall bladder gets removed, bile drips non-stop into your small intestine, and ever since I have had mine removed, I have a bowel movement after I eat, right after I eat. Anyway, my question is, does anyone think that the bile going into my small intestine could cause my IBS? I know no one really knows what makes IBS happen, but I have read that IBS means that the colon overreacts. Does anyone think that bile could have this affect on the colon? I'm curious because I never had this problem until 8 months after my surgery. I will ask my gastro doc this question, but I can't see him again until June 25 and wanted to get some perspective on this question.
