Gallbladder stones

by Sandy_1101, Aug 14, 2007 02:05PM
My husband was scheduled to have a gallbladder surgery in two days, but today the surgeon called him to let him know his labs show his bilirubin levels are high (2.).  He wants to see him tomorrow and asked him if he feels sick.  My husband does not feel sick, but has a mild discomfort on the right side of the abdomen and I think his eyes are a little yellow.  He also had Viral Hepatitis years ago.
The surgeon also told him that the sonogram shows he has many gallbladder stones.  I have read that gallbladder stones can raise the bilirubin levels.  Is this normal?

I have just been diagnosed with gall stones and when my doctor gave me a blood test to check for any other possible problems, she said my bilirubin levels were quite high, which she did say is consistent with gall stones. Hope this helps.
