Gallbladder?

I have had a dull aching pain in my upper right quadrant that comes and goes along with nausea that also comes and goes.  I have a huge family history of gallbladder issues (all females on both sides of family have had gallbladder removed).  I had an ultrasound and a CT scan and both tests came back normal.  Could this still be my gallbladder?  If so...what else can they do to make sure that that is the cause of my symptoms?

It doesnt seem like it could be gallbladder, but obviously im not a doctor. Usually with gallbladder thae pain is not dull. Its sharp and it feels like your having a heart attack. Its unbearable.

It could still be your gallbladder. I wouldn't put any stock into the results of those tests, they sometimes come back with false negative outcomes. Chances are that if the ultrasound and CT came back normal, then other tests will come back normal as well. I would assume that because of your family history, then they would go ahead and remove your gallbladder. I dont know my family medical history. My folks are pretty secretive about that. As a result my gastro is too antsy about scheduling me for gallbladder surgery. Its like there waiting for some change in the test results, like an elevated WBC. Or else he's waiting for it to rupture and cause peritonitis. They can do a HIDA scan to see if your gallbladder is functioning.Keep on your doctors.
