Gallon prep for colonoscopy

I'm in the process of doing the gallon prep for a colonoscopy tomorrow.  I'm having a really hard time finishing the bottle, and was wondering if anyone had any quick suggestions.  Seriously......it's making me throw up when I drink it now and I really don't want to have to do it again.  I have about a third left to drink.  Ugh......

I actually slept well last night, after getting over the nausea.  The colonoscopy went good too.  I was scared that I wasn't going to be clean enough, but she said I was.  They found 2 polyps and removed them, and she also told me I have diverticulosis.  Don't know a whole lot about that (yet - but will research!), and she gave me info for a high fiber diet.  I'm already good with that though, because I already do that.

Thanks for your wishes!!

Just popping in on this one to hope you got some sleep and that your colonoscopy went well - particulary the results - let us know how you got on.

Best wishes

I'm done.  That's as good as it's going to get, and if I have to do it again, it sure isn't going to be the gallon prep!

Thanks for your advice.  I truly appreciate it!

Oh g*d! That's exactly how the stuff I had to drink tasted, but this was lemon flavored and it tasted like salt water too! Gross!

I don't know about the dulcolax. Maybe someone can chime in on that one. I don't want to give advice if I am not sure of it.

I tried again......and hurled again.  I'm so sick of this!  The stuff is thick and is supposedly CHERRY flavor.  Yeah, right......cherry flavored salt water!  I can't drink it slow - it makes it that much worse.  I shiver just thinking about it!

Thanks for your words of advice.  I don't know if I can handle drinking any more of it.  I may just have to go as is.  I do have some dulcolax in the cabinet, but am wondering if that wouldn't be a good idea?

Yes that sounds better to just wait and try it again. Try drinking it slow.

I can't imagine drinking a GALLON of some nasty tasting stuff! I thought drinking the 12 ounces of Ginger-Ale with the 3 ounces of the Phos-soda was bad!! I had to drink it the night before and then drink it again early in the morning before the test.

Gosh, I feel for you!!!

No, it's TriLyte.  And it's horrible.  I got the first three 8oz glasses down without hurling, but haven't been able to do so since.  I have a can of pop next to the sink to drink right after I chug it (they recommended this).  I just feel so full I can't stand to put any more liquid in there!!

I do know that my mind is messing with me now that I know how nasty it tastes.  I've been at this for 4 hours now!!  One gallon.......8 oz at a time.  That's a long time and a lot of liquid!  They do say if you get nauseated (which I did), to wait a half hour and start again.  Yeah, right.  I just want to go to bed and forget all about this.

I'm going to try again.....wish me luck.

It's not the Fleets Phos - Soda stuff? If it is, I mixed it with Ginger-Ale. I know the Phos - soda is some nasty stuff and it's hard to get down as well. I almost threw it up the next morning.

Try to relax when drinking it (whatever it is you are taking). Relaxing, taking deep breaths and not thinking about how awful it tastes will help keep it down.

PS - Not sure if I spelled Phos - soda the right way or if that's the right way to say it!
