I have been dealing with gasteoparesis for about 2 years now. It started relatively soon after I had my gall bladder taken out. I have been seeing a gastroenterologist for the entire term and recently the severity of the gasteoparesis has worsened. I have had 3 gastric
. However, it doesn't do anything for the vomitting.
I have tried reglan, erythromyacin, and just received a RX for Domperidon yesterday. Because the reglan didn't work, I am not too thrilled about the possibility of the domperidon working. I have lost 21 pounds in the last 9 weeks and I am at my wits end. My new doc wants to do CAT scans, motility studies, and maybe another GES. What gives??? I am too young for this!
Hi, I recently watched Dr. Oz and he had a girl on that was misdiagnosed with anoerexia nervosa for a number of years and eventually got a diagnosis of gastroparesis
and had a pacemaker implanted in her stomach - it apparently works like it does on the heart - it causes the muscles of the stomach to push the food through the system - the muscles are the reason that food is not going through and eventually coming up.
diet (low fiber, low fat, frequent small meals)? Lizzieb48 is correct, there is a stomach pacemaker that can be implanted if all else fails for gastroparesis. Have you tried higher doses of the medicines you have tried? Sometimes the smaller doses don't help at all, but larger ones can help a lot. Good luck.
